Description
The Patek 5170 in its original form debuted at BaselWorld 2010. This first iteration of Patek's succesor to the iconic 5070 featured a yellow gold case with a silver / champagne dial. Two Roman numerals accompanied 6 stick markers; the later G version would see these traded in for Breguet style numerals.
Powered by caliber CH 29-535 PS, the Patek Philippe 5170 chronograph features two subdials with a distinct position - lower than the 3-9 axis. Compared to its predecessor 5070, the case is trimmed down from 42 to 39mm, while the dial appears to be much cleaner. The tachymeter scale found on the inner ring of the 5070 has been replaced by a pulsometer scale on the outer rim of the dial.
