Description
When Parmigiani Fleurier launched the outstanding classic extra-thin Tonda 1950 watch in 2010, the intention was always for this model to house several new variations - including, of course, a women's version. The Tonda 1950 Sertie embodies the stylistic essence of Parmigiani Fleurier, stripped down to just the brand's signature codes but with an added glamorous touch in the form of a diamond-set bezel.
The Tonda 1950 Sertie displays the hours and minutes from the centre of the dial, while the seconds are placed at 6 o'clock.
The present example, reference PFC267-1063800-HA2721, features a rose gold case with diamond-set bezel, a Tahitian mother-of-pearl dial and an alligator strap by Hermes. The movement is automatic.
Movement
At just 2.6 mm thick, the PF701 movement owes its slim profile to an off-centred micro-rotor directly integrated into the main plate. This component winds the movement, which has an autonomy of 42 hours. This calibre was developed to allow for the addition of multiple functions ?a such as a calendar or moon phase indication ?a without altering the slender proportions of the Tonda 1950 family. This serves as proof of the excellent design of the PF701 movement and its successive variations.
