Description
The original Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra was introduced in 2002 as a successor to the earlier Seamaster 120 - a more elegant, less sporty version of Omega's dive watches. It was available in a wide variety of configurations, with either quartz or mechanical movements. Since then, the Aqua Terra has been revamped several times, with the present generation having been launched at BaselWorld 2017.
Reference 522.12.41.21.03.001 was introduced in 2019 in anticipation of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. A limited edition of 2020 pieces, it features a stainless steel case and a blue ceramic dial laser-engraved with a pattern resembling the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games emblem. it is delivered with both a rubber strap as well as a stainless steel bracelet.
Movement
First of Omega's movements to receive the new METAS cerfication. Introduced at BaselWorld 2015 in the Omega Globemaster; said to eventually replace the 8500. Resistant to magnetic fields of over 15'000 Gauss. Free-sprung balance with silicon balance spring. Two barrels mounted in series.
