Description
When it was introduced in 2007, the OMEGA De Ville Hour Vision heralded a new era for OMEGA. It was the watch that introduced the Co-Axial calibre 8500/8501 whose every part was created in-house using technology which has defined the way mechanical watch movements will be made in the 21st century. The Hour Vision is aptly named: the beauty of the movement is clearly visible through sapphire glass apertures in the side of the watchcase and through the sapphire crystal case back.
Movement
The in-house caliber 8500 was introduced in the 2007 De Ville Hour Vision. Its two barrels provide a total of 60 hours of power reserve. Version 8501, for use in gold watches, features a solid gold rotor.
Since 2015 certain watches containing this movement may carry the 'Master Co-Axial Chronometer' on the dial.
