Description
Launched at SIHH 2015, the 5007 is IWC's updated version of the Portugieser (formerly Portuguese) Automatic. It's movement now sports two barrels ensuring the power reserve of 168 hours when fully wound and the Pellaton winding mechanism is updated. In terms of design, the changes are subtle yet very noticeable in real life; most apparent are the curved glass and the 'ergonomiccaly optimized' lugs - reminscent perhaps of the IWC Portuguese 2000 of the year 2000, which was the first Portugieser with a 7-day movement.
Reference IW5007-04 has a stainless steel case and a silver dial with red gold numerals.
Movement
The caliber 52000 family, launched in 2015, is IWC's new generation of 7-day Automatic movements. Compared to the predecessors, the Pellaton winding has been updated and the power is now stored in not one, but two barrels. Ref. 52010 is the one used in the Portugieser Automatic.
