Description
The L.U.C 8HF Power Control in ceramic and titanium boasts the chronometer-certified high-frequency L.U.C Calibre 01.09-L. Beating at 57,600 vibrations per hour (8 Hz), this means significant improvement in the calibre's precision timekeeping properties, particularly in rate resumption and stability. Its avant-garde design contrasts black ceramic with touches of red and a DLC-coated titanium bezel, while its case back features a glass positioned just above the high-frequency escapement. This 250-piece limited series is in a league all its own.
Movement
The L.U.C Calibre 01.09-L is equipped with a high-frequency escapement which is chronometer-certified by the COSC. Beating at a frequency of 8 Hz, meaning 57,600 vibrations per hour, this mechanical movement was conceived, developed and perfected by Chopard Technologies in Fleurier. In addition to ensuring greater reliability, high frequency C which naturally requires more energy C is in this instance associated with a remarkable 60-hour power reserve generated by a single barrel. In terms of materials, the engineers at Chopard Technologies decided to work with silicon for certain escapement components (impulse-pin, lever, escape wheel) and developed a new means of fixing silicon on steel (patent pending).
