Description
With its round case and straight lugs, the Rotonde de Cartier is one of the brand's more traditional designs - while retaining many Cartier signature elements. This collection consists primarily of watches with added complications.
The Cartier Rotonde Astromysterieux was introduced at SIHH 2016. In a next-level interpretation of the classic 'mysterieuse' watches not only the hands, but also a large part of the movement, seemingly float in space. The case measures 43.5mm across and is made of platinum, with its bezel and lugs set with 84 baguette-cut diamonds totaling 2.97 carats, the beaded platinum crown set with a brilliant-cut diamond of 0.14 carats, and the platinum dial set with 120 baguette-cut diamonds totaling 3.64 carats. Last but not least, the platinum bracelet is set with 455 baguette-cut diamonds totaling 24.68 carats..

Hand-wound 'mysterious' movement with the escapement, balance, main gear train and barrel completing one full revolution in one hour in the center of the dial - while technically not a tourbillon in the classic sense, the concept is similar [enough].
