Its numerous functions have been kept to those actually required by professional pilots: 1/100th of a second chronograph with split times, alarm, countdown, 2nd timezone with independent alarm, UTC and perpetual calendar. Handling of these functions is designed to be logical, simple and direct, and an NVG-compatible display backlighting system enables night-time read-off. Its aeronautical vocation is underscored by Breitling's exclusive rack-and-pinnion mounted slide rule. The Airwolf is also endowed with undeniable attractive aesthetic assets, including perfectly ergonomic curving chronograph pushpieces and, above all, a turbine-shaped construction on the caseback serving as a resonance chamber for the alarm and the other audible indications.
